POSITION TITLE: Nutrition Services Manager
REPORTS TO: Nutrition Services Director
LOCATION: South Elementary
Purpose:
This position is responsible for the preparation and serving of food to students and/or cashiering during breakfast and lunch shifts. This position is a full-time position (40-hour week) and requires a dress code.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform the duties assigned by the Food Services Director in an efficient manner.
- Maintain a high quality of safety and cleanliness in all aspects of the kitchen and dining area to comply with city, county and state health codes.
- Assign and supervise work of food service staff.
- Attend manager meetings as scheduled by Food Services Director.
- Place weekly orders for food and supplies.
- Verify and sign invoices of food shipments.
- Properly store all food and supplies upon delivery.
- Determine the quantity of food to be prepared each day and ensure proper serving sizes to meet the necessary requirements of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program.
- Assist and prepare food according to planned menus and determine if finished product is acceptable in appearance and flavor before serving.
- Complete daily production record reports.
- Conduct inventories of food and supplies.
- Plan, direct and supervise the daily cleaning of kitchen, cafeteria and equipment and report to Food Services Director any break downs of equipment.
- Oversee the closing of computers and locking of milk boxes, store room and kitchen.
- Recommend the time of arrival and time of departure to best suit this particular school building to the Food Services Director.
- Arrange for substitutes when necessary and report absentees to food service office.
- Report any accidents or problems to the Food Service Director.
- Cooperate with building Principal in conducting the food service program and related activities.
Perform other appropriate duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Jefferson City School District.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate.
- Experience in the preparation of a wide variety of food on a quantity basis.
- Competency for assigned responsibilities with previous personnel supervision preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize and cater miscellaneous school events.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
